I haven’t posted part one yet, but Lori is in love with this video. Everyone that has come over in the last week has been shown the video proudly. Dan and Marcella even had to wait to watch the NFC Championship (Go Cardinals!) in order for us to show them.
Here it is;
In early October the city put on Founder’s Day down at Pacana Park. We hung out with Alyssa, Will, and Avery and let the two munchkins run around. We had snow cones, got a balloon animal for K, and got to see her be scared of Big Red (the Cardinals mascot for the uninitiated). On the drive over there we saw a banner for something having to do with a pumpkin patch, and then got a flyer for it while we were at the park.
The next day we went over to one of the local nurseries and had fun at the "First Annual Halloween Fun Day Pumpkin Patch & Festival". Here are the pictures;
In October we went to Schnepf Farms for the better part of the day. It was actually really fun, and not far from the splurging Queen Creek residential areas. Kaelyn really enjoyed herself (despite the heat), and even got to ride her first pony. Here are the pictures;
Kaelyn’s daycare had a fall festival right before Halloween that we went to. Here are some pictures;
We went to a birthday party for one of Kaelyn’s daycare friends in late December. It was at this giant indoor play center called Makutu’s Island over in Chandler. She had a ton of fun, and Lori even went up in the play area with her. Here are the pics;
I’ve been hooking up my MacBook to the setup (mouse/keyboard/lcd) usually connected to a Windows machine over the last few days. It works great except for the reversed Command + Option on the keyboard mappings. I googled for something eloquent and found this; http://randomfoo.net/blog/id/4092. Unfortunately whenever he did that it is outdated now. I updated it for Leopard, and I can now just use Spotlight to execute "Change Keyboard" as I saved it as an Application to my Applications folder with that name. Here is the updated version;
tell application "System Preferences"
activate
set current pane to pane "com.apple.preference.keyboard"
end tell
tell application "System Events"
get properties
tell application process "System Preferences"
click button "Modifier Keys…" of tab group 1 of window "Keyboard & Mouse"
set commandKey to value of pop up button 1 of sheet 1 of window "Keyboard & Mouse"
— DEBUG
— display dialog commandKey
– Default, lets flip
if commandKey ends with "Command" then
— click the pop up button menu "Option", this menu does not exist until it is clicked in the GUI
click pop up button 2 of sheet 1 of window "Keyboard & Mouse"
— click "Command" of the pop up menu
click menu item 4 of menu 1 of pop up button 2 of sheet 1 of window "Keyboard & Mouse"
— delay briefly
delay 1
— click the pop up button menu "Command", this menu does not exist until it is clicked in the GUI
click pop up button 1 of sheet 1 of window "Keyboard & Mouse"
— click "Option" of the pop up menu
click menu item 3 of menu 1 of pop up button 1 of sheet 1 of window "Keyboard & Mouse"
— delay again
delay 1
— Not Default, lets flip it back
else
click button "Restore Defaults" of sheet 1 of window "Keyboard & Mouse"
end if
— click "OK" to dismiss the sheet
click button "OK" of sheet 1 of window "Keyboard & Mouse"
end tell
end tell
tell application "System Preferences" to quit
On Halloween we went to Jac and Keith’s for Daelyn’s birthday and K’s first trick-or-treating experience. Here are the pictures;
We had an elmo pinata for Kaelyn’s birthday, and of course we forgot to string it up and break it open. So a few weeks later Avery came over and she and Kaelyn tried to get some candy out. Of course, the bat was too soft for the well built pinata and it ended up with me breaking it open with a hammer. Here are the resulting pictures;
